SeaDek Marine Products, the leading manufacturer of innovative PE/EVA blended non-skid products, is excited to be exhibiting at METS 2017 (Marine Equipment Trade Show) in Amsterdam RAI. The three-day show runs from November 14-16, and the SeaDek team will be onsite at stand CMP 43.EL in the Construction Material Pavilion with material samples and some exciting new product offerings for 2018.
METSTRADE is the world’s largest marine equipment trade show, and has been bringing the marine industry together for decades. Over 22,000 professionals from 112 countries around the world gather in Amsterdam for the quintessential show. If you will be attending, please be sure to stop by the SeaDek booth to say Hello and learn what SeaDek can do for your boats.
Not all PE/EVA foam products are created equal. When it comes to flooring for your boat, be careful when considering knock-off products to avoid a costly mistake. While competing products may look similar at the time of installation, many will fail and break down in short order when exposed to the elements, with dramatic consequences.
Genuine SeaDek is manufactured from the highest quality materials available, and rigorous testing is performed continuously to ensure that our products live up to their name and provide years of trouble-free use.
We recently had the chance to help out a captain who had used an imitation material, and the consequences were ugly. Luckily, our custom install technicians were able to remove the offending product, and we produced new Genuine SeaDek pads to get his boat back into shape.
Don’t let this happen to you and your boat—always demand Genuine SeaDek!
When it comes to speed, luxury, and performance, few can compete with Marine Technology INC, manufacturer of high-end power catamarans and mono hulls that combine the comforts of cruising with the exhilaration of offshore racing.
We recently had a brand new Slot V42 come through the factory for a SeaDek install, and man, what a boat! Custom SeaDek was the final step in the build, and our technicians performed a flawless installation that provided the perfect combination of function and flair.
SeaDek Certified Fabricator JetBoat Pilot has been hard at work, installing SeaDek on boats of all shapes and sizes throughout the Panama City area in Florida. This recent project features a 2017 Boston Whaler Outrage that got SeaDeked! The owner chose 6mm SeaDek in Storm Gray/Black, and Will did a great job on the install with a perfect fit across the boat!

Runway to Hope’s mission is to provide direct support and aid to Central Florida children and their families impacted by pediatric cancer. Through partnerships with Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, Florida Hospital for Children, and Nemours Children’s Hospital, Runway to Hope fosters collaborative efforts among corporations, local businesses, and philanthropists to not only raise funds and awareness, but also bring new programs and initiatives to the pediatric cancer community. Runway to Hope will have a booth from 4pm to 9pm.
Take a look at the SeaDek dock pads from last year’s event to help the competitors load into the boats without slipping around or burning their feet. The dock pads are 6mm black/orange with a brushed texture.
Australian SeaDek Certified Fabricator Aggravated Cutting has been hard at work cutting and installing SeaDek on boats all around Australia. This recent project was pretty unique—the pick-up boat for Wakeboard Victoria! They use this boat for picking up fallen riders in tournaments, and according to Ross, it was looking pretty sad and unloved.
But SeaDek is perfect for breathing new life into old boats! Ross digitized the pick-up boat and designed a fully custom SeaDek kit in Storm Gray over Black with the club’s logo in Bimini Blue prominently on display in the center. He even used 5mm Black embossed on the sides where the riders climb in for extra safety and durability.
Apparently the club was pretty impressed with the end result—nice work Ross!

As an employer of over 130 full time employees in Brevard County, Florida, SeaDek takes pride in providing quality manufacturing jobs to local residents, and growing the regional economy through their continued expansion. And with technology steering the course of modern manufacturing in the 21st century, these jobs are not the manufacturing jobs of our grandparents—computers, high tech machinery, and skilled workers utilizing technology to overcome challenges have replaced the stereotypical dark and dingy factory of the past.
The Economic Development Commission of Florida’s Space Coast has long been an advocate for manufacturing in Brevard, and their newest campaign, See manufacturing through new eyes, brings local manufacturing companies and their employees into the spotlight, with the goal of opening doors and creating new things to consider about manufacturing careers.
SeaDek’s Amanda Bisset, a Quality Assurance Technician, was chosen to represent SeaDek in the campaign after recently completing her CPT (Certified Production Technician) training. After moving into the quality department, Amanda has proven to be a major asset to the company, taking on responsibilities to maintain SeaDek’s ISO 9001:2015 certification, and other duties to ensure finished goods leaving the factory meet the strict quality standards customers have come to expect from SeaDek.
Congratulations Amanda, SeaDek is proud to have you as part of the team!
As the Volvo Ocean Race kicked off on Sunday, the crew of Team Brunel was sure-footed as they departed Alicante en route to Lisbon with custom SeaDek non-skid installed throughout their VOR 65. As the official team of the Netherlands, Team Brunel is one of only seven teams embarking on a journey that puts the human will and spirit to the ultimate test in some of the fiercest ocean conditions on the planet.
After reaching Lisbon, the second leg of the race will take the teams through the Southern Atlantic to Cape Town, in a potentially grueling stretch of water that is sure to challenge the most experienced sailors.
Earlier in the season, Team Brunel contacted the SeaDek team in hopes of installing SeaDek’s innovative PE/EVA nonskid products throughout their Volvo Ocean Race 65. With a short timeframe to work around as the boat was undergoing preparations for the race, UK-based SeaDek Certified Fabricator Pro-Cast was able to cut the parts and make the trip to Lisbon to perform a stellar installation on the boat—just in time for the beginning of the race. Without SeaDek’s extensive international presence, such a quick turnaround may not have been possible.
SeaDek is proud to support the crew of Team Brunel in their bid for The Trophy, and looks forward to an exciting race among the world’s premier sailors!
Pro-Cast is the UK’s only SeaDek Certified Fabricator, providing full-service custom SeaDek design and installation on all types of projects. Contact their professional team at:
Our friends at Captains for Clean Water have just released a new video paying tribute to the silver king—undoubtedly the most iconic inshore gamefish in Florida history. Tarpon have long lured anglers with their prehistoric strength, prowess, and beauty, and today they remain an irreplaceable part of Florida’s ecosystem and fishery.
Unfortunately, years of damaging outflow from Lake Okeechobee has taken a toll on Florida’s waterways and the damage done to the Everglades has put all fish species in peril. But the time for action has arrived, and Captains for Clean Water has led the charge in pushing lawmakers and state officials to implement a solution to this decades-long crisis, by redirecting the flow of water to its natural path and sending clean freshwater south through the Everglades.
SeaDek is a proud partner of Captains for Clean Water, and we encourage everyone to get behind this amazing organization to restore and protect the natural resource that we all hold so close to our hearts—Florida’s clean water.
The project brought 15 active duty/retired wounded and disabled veterans together with local charter captains for two days of idyllic fishing in the back country with the goal of assisting in their mental and physical rehabilitation after returning home from duty.
SeaDek was a proud returning sponsor of the event, and we are happy that we could contribute to a great cause for the heroes of our country.
One participant summed up his experience like this:
Sgt. Chad Wooten USMC (Ret.) … “What an amazing and unforgettable trip! Thank you and everyone who worked so hard to put this together for us. Especially all of the captains who took us out and showed us the healing powers of the Everglades!”
Many thanks to everyone that came together to make this event the success that it was!
