Ship Shape TV Featuring SeaDek and Deco Boat Lifts

We were down in Jupiter, Florida last week shooting a great new episode of Ship Shape TV (http://www.shipshapetv.com/).  In this episode we are SeaDeking an aluminum walkway on a Deco Boat Lift (http://decoboatlift.com/). Deco owner, George Massell, was on hand to talk about his great lifts and give us some advice on how SeaDek might be integrated into the design and add some additional functionality and further customize the look of the lift.

ShipShape_Deco_005

Our good friend, John Greviskis, had us on site bright and early. We prepped the walkway and had a look at a few different color options to find the one that best matched his back yard color pallet. He settled on the storm gray over black with a brushed finish. We also CNC routed a Deco logo right into the center piece.

SeaDek if perfect for applying to aluminum surfaces and really makes a different getting on and off the boat. Learn more about SeaDek at (http://www.seadek.com/). Order a boat lift pads for your boat today by contacting SeaDek at 888-964-6860/321-632-4466 or email customerservice@seadek.com

Look for the new episode of Ship Shape TV to begin airing on April 24th.

Overall I’m very happy with this project! The front and rear came out absolutely amazing and the SeaDek is very easy to work with as long as you prep and take your time actually working with the product.

Nice job Jared and thanks for sharing!

HydraSports 2250 – DIY SeaDek – Part 2

Yesterday we shared a forum posting from Jared on The Hull Truth (www.thehulltruth.com), on how to make a DIY kit for your boat using SeaDek Sheet Material (www.seadek.com/blog/hydrasports-2250-diy-seadek-part-1). Here’s Jared’s day two posting of his DIY SeaDek project:

Time to put the pieces of SeaDek down that I had cut the previous night. First we made sure to clean the surface using acetone so the material would stick 100%:

Step11

Was not fun trying to line them up perfectly but it doesn’t look bad:

Step12

Decided that we needed a piece down lower so started making the template process again:

Step13

More templates being made:

Step14 Step15

I’m very happy how the front has turned out, still working on the rear and will post tomorrow:

Step16 Step17

Nice job Jared! Stay tuned for Part 3 with pictures of the finished product!

HydraSports 2250 – DIY SeaDek – Part 1

Here’s a great SeaDek Sheet Material DIY post from The Hull Truth (www.thehulltruth.com) that was written by our customer Jared:

“Felt like I should contribute to the forum and will post my experience with doing SeaDek myself. I ordered two of their large rolls of the gray and will be making my own templates, cutting them, and putting it down.

First, make the templates:

Step1 Step2 Step3

We used a clear material, cut to size, and held down with painters tape. Next using a straight edge and sharpie we did all the straight lines, then did the corners by hand:

Step4 Step5 Step6

Make sure you clearly mark each piece and where they go:

Step7

Next we made a working table with a piece of plywood, put the SeaDek upside down on top of it, and taped the templates on top:

Step8

Step9

After we cut them, for the corners we used scissors and rounded the edge, then sanded down the corners to not have any sharp corners. Also you can sand down any imperfections of your straight edge cuts if you messed up slightly:

Step10

Those are our pieces we made. Going to put them on boat tomorrow and will post pictures of the results. Probably will make some more templates with any remaining material and get them on the boat as well.

Thanks for the great step by step instructions Jared! Stay tuned for Part 2 of the DIY process!

IFA Redfish Tour – Team SeaDek

On March 28th, Alan and Pepi of Team SeaDek placed 15th in the IFA Redfish Tour (www.ifatours.com/redfish-tour) in Titusville, FL.

IFA3

“Pre-fishing on Thursday went well despite high winds and dirty water conditions. We boated several redfish and some large trout as a bonus all though trout were not the targeted species for Saturday’s event.

Friday presented us with near unfishable conditions with higher wind predictions and the threat of storms with an approaching cold front. We knew the passage of the front would create difficult fishing conditions but we went with what we had found pre-fishing for the tourney on Saturday.

We didn’t boat a fish until nearly noon but within about 45 minutes we had two slot fish in the live well for weigh-in. We continued to try to upgrade our smaller of the two redfish but with time against us it just didn’t happen.

Pepi and I were able to place 15th out of 71 Teams in some pretty tough conditions.

Our next stop will be the 2nd leg of the Power-Pole Florida Pro Redfish Series Tournament held in Jacksonville, Fl on April 18th.

We would like to thank SeaDek Marine Products for all your continued support. We are honored to represent such an outstanding Company!!”
