Carver 44 With Faux Teak SeaDek

Just got these post install photos in from Sacksteders Custom Detailing & Wakeboarding in Arizona. The color combination is mocha over black faux teak made from our soft yet durable EVA material. While from a distance it may look like other faux teak options our product is very different. Rather than a hard composite material ours is much like sandal material and fit and finish our far superior, featuring beveled edges and smooth radiused corners.

We have created beautiful custom non-skid pads for Sea Ray customers for many years. Now that Sea Ray is an OEM customer as well more SR owners than ever are turning to us to cover their boat’s swim platforms, cockpit, bows and helm areas. I happened across this installation on a 2005 200SD on the ClubSeaRay forum ( the other day and asked the owner if I could use his images. He was more than happy to oblige, thanks Paul!

Sunfish Sailboat Anti-skid Pads

We’ve been working hard behind the scenes here at the SeaDek factory to develop non-skid options for one design sailboats like the Sunfish, Sailfish, Laser and J-class sailboats. My primary concern has been fit from one year to the next and if “one design” really means exactly one design or just sort of one design. Can one non-skid templated pattern really work on all of the boats out there?

Well I pulled a template from a 1997 Sunfish, made a SeaDek kit from the template and sent it to the owner of a 1975 Sunfish. Just got an email from the owner today and, it fit!! Hope fully this is a good sign the we really can make and sell a kit for all Sunfish.

We still have a bit of finishing work to do on these so I haven’t added them to the store just yet. Aside from offering the entire kit it might be that customers will also want the option of buying sections a la catre as well. We’d love to get feedback and suggestions from you so please call (321.632.4466) or email (

The part number for this kit is Z101542

Kayaks By Bo

Had a great visit yesterday with the guys over at Kayaks by Bo ( in Titusville, Florida. They have a beautiful new building in the historic downtown area within striking distance of the world famous Mosquito Lagoon. Tom the owner, his dog was named Bo, was good enough to give me the run of the place and Charles “Redfish Chuck” Levi Jr. gave me an overview of where kayak fishing is heading.

Chuck reached out to me recently and thought there could be a real opportunity for SeaDek on some of the new stand up style fishing kayaks that they specialize in. Most of the boats are coming in with no non-skid or an inferior low quality EVA. We pulled templates off of some of the most popular models and in the weeks to come we’ll be testing them and soon there after offering them for sale on our online store and hopefully at Kayaks by Bo. I’ll be posting regular updates so please check back in regularly. A great way to keep up with us is to “like” us on FaceBook: We usually repost our blog entries and I’m sure we’ll be doing some kayak related product give aways soon.

Tom Altif owns Kayaks by Bo with his wife Lyn.Charles “Redfish Chuck” Levi Jr. is on hand most days to help share his wealth on knowledge about kayaks, equipment and the countless natural resources accessible by kayaks and shallow-water craft in the area.
