Rockledge, Fla. (January 30, 2015) – SeaDek, an industry leader in innovative marine non-skid products, has been named a Technical Supplier of ORACLE TEAM USA, the champion America’s Cup team. In 2013, ORACLE TEAM USA successfully defended its title in the AC72 class – wingsail powered catamarans that flew above the water on hydrofoils at over 50 mph (90kph). SeaDek outfitted the team’s fleet of support vehicles and provided EVA non-skid hatch covers for the AC45s.
SeaDek Marine Products is a leading manufacturer of a range of EVA non-skid products for marine and sports use. A viable alternative to carpet and molded-in nonskid products, SeaDek’s line of products are targeted for OEM boat builders, resellers and end-users. The company was originally formed to produce cutting-edge surf products and nonskid traction pads, including X-Trak® surf traction and K-Grip®, a line of pads designed for world champion surfer Kelly Slater. The company later expanded its product offerings to the boating industry thanks to its innovation with marine-grade EVA materials.
From reformulating EVA materials for use in new markets to developing new ways to utilize CNC technology to automate work flow, SeaDek maintains a culture of innovation. The company has designed new laminating machines from the ground up and introduced laser technology for branding and design. The growing company continues to add staff and recently relocated to a larger manufacturing facility in Rockledge, FL not far from Kennedy Space Center and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
“Working as a Technical Supplier of ORACLE TEAM USA pushes us to new levels of production and innovation.” says Jason Gardner, CoOwner and Vice President of Marketing for SeaDek. “They are the tip of a technological arrow that stretches back over 160 years and we are very proud to be a part of that legacy again.”
