Recently Team Riders Thomas Maximus, Chance Fielder and Ruth Vesler traveled to Lake Las Vegas in Henderson, NV to compete in the 2013 Hennessey’s World Championship.
Race day began on Saturday morning with the 8 Mile Pro & Open SUP Distance Race with Thomas Maximus claiming 1st Overall and WPA World Champion Unlimited SUP Title.
The next Race was the Men & Womens Elite 7 Lap Technical Course Race on 14′ & 12.6 respectively. While the early morning Races enjoyed Warm Temperatures and light Winds….conditions changed drasticly for the afternoon Race with temperatures near 100 degrees with 10% humidity and Winds gusting over 30+mph…making the upwind legs to BRUTAL!
Chance Fielder took 5th Place Overall (2nd Place age 40+) with Thomas Maximus in 6th (3rd Place age 40+) in 14′ Mens World Championship Elite Race and Ruth Vesler took 3rd Place Overall in 12.6′ Womens World Championship Elite Race.
The 3 Person Pro Team Relay Race was the last Race of the event/afternoon with even stronger winds….Team Riviera w/ Thomas Maximus, Chance Fielder and Ruth Vesler won 2nd Place Overall!
After a full day of Racing the evening festivities began with the Awards Banquet and Dinner held at the Hennessey’s Tavern in Downtown Las Vegas…along with the annoucement of the Grand Prize Raffle Ticket winner of 2 Round Trip tickets to Tahiti, Hotel including Food…awarded to Ruth Vesler to complete an Epic Weekend of Racing!
