Our friends Rush Maltz and Ali Hussainy of Local Knowledge are always getting into something out of the ordinary, but their recent foray into NASCAR racing took even us by surprise. Last week, the team announced a partnership with the StarCom Racing/Superior Essex NASCAR Racing team talents to bring a sport fishing theme to the 2018 Ford EcoBoost NASCAR Championship Race, which was held at the Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday November 18, 2018.
The Local Knowledge team worked closely with the Superior Essex crew to design a one-of-a-kind mahi mahi race car design, which was driven by Landon Cassill.
On Sunday, November 18, the Local Knowledge 00 car competed head to head with the Superior Essex 99 car driven by Kyle Weatherman. Kyle’s 99 car featured a blue marlin graphics package for the 2018 Ford EcoBoost 400 race.
The teams coined the race “The Marlin vs. Mahi Championship” and as you are probably eager to know, mahi was the winner!
