Melbourne High School Business Academy – SeaDek Visit

For the second year in a row SeaDek Marine Products has hosted the Melbourne High School Business Academy at our Rockledge, FL based production plant. Sophomores were given a look inside the workings of an international manufacturing facility with a factory tour, presentations by employees and owners and opportunities to ask questions and even give new product suggestions. The SeaDek Nautique 230 provided a good prop to demonstrate a real-world application for our custom SeaDek non-skid products.

COO, Serenity Gardner, explains many of the new procedures and systems that she has help to implement over the past few years. She also stressed the importance of continued education and innovation.

We were all impressed by the student attention, interest and questions. Teacher, Erik Perna, runs a tight ship and obviously cares a great deal about these kids and their future. We’re lucky to have leaders like him in our community. These student are the people who are going to be driving our county forward into the 21st century and I think we’re in pretty good hands. Looking forward to next year’s visit!
