Oracle Team USA and SeaDek

SeaDek is a Technical Supplier to Oracle Team USA. We recently had the opportunity to work together to create custom flooring for the OTUSA catamaran and their chase boats. The picture below is the SeaDek floor in the catamaran. It is 5mm snow camo with an embossed texture and the SeaDek logo is a prototype swap out, which is 5mm bimini blue with an embossed texture.

The picture’s below are the SeaDek pads we created for the chase boats. These pads are 5mm black pads with an embossed texture and swapped out logos.

Oracle Team USA races in an AC45 Sport Catamaran. The top speed of this vessel so far is 55mph. It is capable of 60+ mph in the right conditions. OTUSA will stop at nothing to become the best racing team out there. Just at the beginning of this month, while practicing in Bermuda, the vessel was capsized. Fortunately, there were no injuries. The team was shaken up, but also learned very valuable lessons and will be able to continue moving forward. SeaDek, along with many others, are very happy there were no injuries during the capsize. This is a sport that has to constantly be pushing these catamarans to the limit. We are happy to be able to help provide a bit of safety by adding SeaDek to these boats. The non-slip features that SeaDek offers will help give Oracle Team USA a slight advantage in knowing they can move around on the catamarans, and focus on crewing the vessel, rather than worrying about slipping. Durable and shock absorbent, SeaDek provides not only an exceptional traction surface but also lessens the fatigue brought on by prolonged standing and working on hard decking and platforms.
