Replacing hard synthetic deck material with SeaDek

Here are a few pictures a customer sent us of a boat going through the transformation from a hard synthetic deck material to SeaDek.

Before SeaDek:Seadek Before

The synthetic teak product is a dense material that requires the use of difficult to work with contact cements during installation. You can already see the difference in density and texture between the old material and the new SeaDek waiting to be applied.

As you scroll through the process, notice the mess the old material leaves behind. The new SeaDek swim platform pad has an easy installation process with its peel-and-stick adhesive backing.

Hatch After

The hard synthetic deck material gets very hot in the sun while SeaDek’s EVA foam material is much cooler to walk on, customizable, and provides a non-skid, anti-fatigue surface for your boat.
