SeaDek – Preferred Supplier of ORACLE Racing
July 11, 2012

Rockledge, FL… SeaDek is proud to announce that they are a Preferred Supplier of ORACLE Racing, the champion America’s Cup team based in San Francisco. SeaDek has supplied bow to stern nonskid pads for the first Naiad support vessel for the Defender’s AC72 yacht and will provide further material for the additional support boats soon to enter production.

One of the biggest international sporting competitions in the world, the 34th Americas Cup is comprised of three main events, each staged in a different location: the AC World Series held in 2011 in San Diego, California and Newport, Rhode Island, in June/July 2012; the Louis Vuitton Cup in San Francisco in July 2013, where the foreign challenger will be determined. The finals between the foreign challenger and the American defender are also in San Francisco in 2013.

SeaDek non-skid, closed cell EVA pads have been chosen for the floor and many of the vertical services throughout the AC72 tender. Hatch covers and hardware has been applied directly over the SeaDek creating an aesthetically pleasing effect. The centerpiece of the non-skid kit is a large 40 inch x 60 inch ORACLE – Team USA branded pad that is displayed over the rear engine cover.

The non-skid pads offer safe and comfortable alternatives to molded in non-skid, paint-on textures and other marine traction products currently available. Made from UV protected non-absorbent foam, SeaDek features an innovative, textured micro-dot surface for added non-slip characteristics or a unique brushed faux teak finish.

Formulated with an acrylic based high-bond pressure sensitive adhesive, SeaDek’s robust, peel-and-stick application makes it easy to install and requires no mounting of hardware. Easy to clean and highly stain resistant, the product also provides protection for boat surfaces, especially in high traffic areas as seen on the tender.

SeaDek looks forward to an exciting race season and a continuing relationship with ORACLE Racing.
