Established in 2004, Wake Awards is the wakeboarding industry’s ultimate award franchise. Recognizing the accomplishments of the best professional riders each year, Wake Awards covers the gamut, from up and coming younger riders with the Check Out Award to veterans with the Legend Award. This year’s Wake Awards Show features hosts DanO-the-ManO and Wakeboarding Editor Garrett Cortese.
This is the 16th year that Wake Awards has celebrated the performances of the top wake athletes and content creators. With some of the most prestigious awards bestowed unto the winners, a panel of over 50 industry insiders get to vote on who has made the most impact since the last Wake Awards, with consideration given to contest results, media coverage, progression, creativity, and overall badassery.
WAKEBOARDING Magazine created this franchise after the turn of the millennium and Show Director Garrett Cortese and Producer Ben Greenwood were thrown a curveball this year with Hurricane Dorian cancelling the traditional show at Surf Expo.
The challenge was met with a content driven initiative that has landed the fans and industry with the professionally unprofessional show before you.
