After years of supporting professional sailing teams such as ORACLE Team USA and Softbank Team Japan in the America’s Cup, SeaDek is proud and honored to provide their innovative non-skid products for yachts in the Volvo Ocean Race. Team Brunel and Sun Hung Kai Scallywag have both fitted their Volvo Ocean 65’s with SeaDek throughout the cockpits and also below in the cabins. Given the extreme healing conditions and adverse sea states that the yachts endure in their race around the globe, the teams have embraced SeaDek as an invaluable component that keeps them sure-footed and safe in the world’s most demanding circumnavigation.
Last week, members of the SeaDek team had the pleasure of joining the crews at the Newport stopover for a few days of sailing, and got to cheer them on as they departed Narragansett Bay on their journey across the Atlantic to Cardiff. It was great to spend some time with the sailors, and we were thrilled to see how thankful they were for their SeaDek kits.

Best of luck to all the teams on Leg 9!
Special thanks to UK-based SeaDek Certified Fabricator Pro-Cast, who installed Team Brunel’s kit in Portugal last Fall, and Batavian, who installed Scallywag’s kit during their Auckland stop earlier this year.
