To most anglers, it should come as no surprise that Florida’s waterways are in a dire situation, facing unprecedented threats from run-off, pollution, and years of mismanagement.

Many of Florida’s prized fisheries teeter on the brink of collapse, caught in a perilous state of uncertainty, with their fates waiting to be determined by a bureaucratic battle over land use, resources, and conservation.

Our friend Jason Arnold recently directed this final installment of Surface Tension, in which AFTCO Pro Captain Alonzo Sotillo showcases the prestigious tarpon fishery on Florida’s shallow flats.

With its breathtaking cinematography and unique ecological focus, this video does an extraordinary job of illuminating the precious natural resources that Florida has been blessed with, as well as the many reasons why we need to act to protect them.
