The Hot Tuna Gets SeaDeked

When TJ Ott of the National Geographic hit series Wicked Tuna called looking for custom SeaDek, we knew we had to step it up with a really special kit. When fishing the sometimes treacherous waters of the Northeast Atlantic, the rear deck of the Hot Tuna became especially dangerous, and SeaDek was the perfect solution to provide traction, comfort during long trips, and some really cool graphics.

When we first started talking with TJ earlier this summer, he was down fishing in Key West and the Hot Tuna was getting maintenance done at Spencer Yachts on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We had to get it done quickly—logistical nightmare you may think, but not for SeaDek.

Thanks to our extensive network of SeaDek Certified Fabricators and Installers, a quick phone call had Kelley of Underfoot Marine Products working right away to get the boat digitized. As a SeaDek Certified Installer based in Mooresville, North Carolina, Underfoot had a technician dispatched to Spencer, where a digital pattern of the Hot Tuna was captured and sent to the SeaDek factory for CAD design.

After our lead designers finished design, we produced a fully custom Snow Camo kit with lasered Bass Pro Shops logos, a detailed Hot Tuna logo, and of course a few SeaDek logos so everyone knows that TJ is using Genuine SeaDek.

Clay of Underfoot Marine Products completed the install and the final product was nothing short of amazing! We are loving the new look of the Hot Tuna!

We also had the chance to catch up with TJ at ICAST last week. What a super guy and really stoked about his new Dek!
