When Tarpon Attack

Hi Chuck, thought you might be interested in this. My wife Kris and I were eating lunch off Chokoloskee a couple of weeks ago, and had a free jumping tarpon land in the boat. (not hooked). Complete mayhem ensued, my wife was knocked overboard, inside of the boat was trashed and all of our fly rods were reduced to little pieces. Anyway, after releasing the fish (it was very alive but probably didn’t survive due to blood loss), we headed to the ramp. It took about 30 minutes during which time the blood and slime started to dry on the SeaDek. Amazingly, it all cleaned up. Very few materials would stand up to this abuse. Unfortunately, while the tarpon was beating the inside of the boat to a pulp, all of my graphite rods were broken into numerous small pieces.
