SeaDek partners with Watershed Innovation, UCF, and marine industry leaders on ultra-quiet aluminum fishing boat

When the opportunity to partner with Correct Craft’s Watershed Innovation team and UCF on a project well outside the confines of traditional boat design, we knew it was something that we had to be a part of. With Torqueedo and Sea Ark Boats onboard, the team confronted one of the biggest drawbacks of aluminum boats—noisy, slapping hulls that transmit high levels of vibration—with the goal of developing an aluminum fishing boat that was as stealthy as it was sleek.

After nearly a year in the making, the concept boat was presented at a statewide engineering design showcase in Boca Raton, FL, last week. From a modern hull design that reduced noise to an electric power center to SeaDek’s noise dampening non-skid surfaces, the new boat turned heads at the showcase, and set the stage for a new era of aluminum boat design.

While we at SeaDek pride ourselves in our accomplishments in transforming the marine flooring landscape over the last decade, our focus continues to remain on the future. As the boating industry evolves and seeks to make the boating experience better with each new breakthrough, we are committing extensive resources to research and development so that we may help to lead the charge into the next generation of boating.

Congratulations to all the seniors on their outstanding final product, and thank you to all of of the valued members of the marine industry who contributed to this innovative, forward-thinking project!
